ABOUT: Arrival is a classic granny square blanket with a HGDC twist. I designed and crocheted this blanket whilst I was 37+ weeks pregnant with my son, Teddy. Since then I have made another four Arrivals to gift to babies born around Teddy's birthday, a keepsake and heirloom.

To make the blanket, start by batch making a stack of two round granny squares. The granny squares are then joined using the Continuous Join As You Go Method (CJAYG) and finished with the trademark HGDC border.

This patten has been tested.

SKILL LEVEL: Beginner

SIZE:  baby blanket 9 x 33" / 93 x 84 cm

YARN: uses double knit (DK) yarn

For the two round granny squares you will need 300g.

For the joining colour you will need 200g.

For the border you will need approx 50g.

Total weight is 550g

YOU WILL ALSO NEED: 4.5mm hook, scissors and darning needle.

Perfect baby gift!

This pattern! I've made 4 of these blankets now and I absolutely love each one of them!

I'm about to be a Great, Great Aunty for the first time and I'm making one for my Great Nephew and his partner, niece and her husband and sister and her husband ❤️ This welcome addition to our family will have 3 blankets!

The pattern is so easy to follow, and the perfect stashbuster. It really helps me switch off after a hectic day at work and you can easily get lost in the making of this beautiful blanket. Heather's guide to Granny Dquares is invaluable and search for her on YouTube for video guidance on oin as you go (jayg) and continuous join as you go (cjayg).

This will be a blanket I will always have on my hook - it makes the perfect gift for a new baby 💖

Amazing pattern

I absolutely love this pattern, Im sure like me most of us have an endless stash of scraps and part balls of yarn that we don't really know what to use for.

Make the Arrival blanket in all your scraps and I promise you won't be disappointed. The pattern is so well written and even has a check off page to keep track of how many squares you have made. The possibilities are endless.
I love the continuous join method and it's nowu go to joining method fort blankets

I've already started another bigger one for myself.

Delightful

What a delightful pattern. Very easy to follow & a pattern you can easily complete while binging Netflix & snacking. Doesn’t matter if you are a beginner or pro Crocheter, I would highly recommend this pattern. The colour combinations is endless. Already half way through another one of these I will be gifting.

The loveliest blanket!

This blanket is perfect for beginners (or those wanting to embrace their inner granny square lover). It is so adorable, and the perfect keepsake blanket for new arrivals. It is so simple to follow and allows you to use whatever colour scheme will make your heart sing!
